Hello, I’m Brendan Bolton and welcome to Project Camino.
I’m an Australian Life Coach, Podcaster, husband, father and I grew up in Cairns, in Far North Queensland, Australia.
My aim is to gather a world wide tribe of fellow minded people who want to know about how others successfully live ‘their Camino.’
Project Camino is a platform for people to share their personal insights as to how they have ‘taken the Camino home with them.’ The value and inspiration these stories will provide to myself and my listeners cannot be underestimated.
I suppose I am an ordinary guy who has gone through many of the ordinary things that you may have.
I have travelled and lived overseas, got married, got divorced, got remarried, started a family and am now doing this podcast about the Camino walk in Spain.
I suppose I am just an ordinary guy, but I have an extraordinary dream.
My dream is to interview every single person who has walked the Camino and who has a story to share. The story about the challenges they faced and overcame, the friendships they made and the wisdom and life lessons that the Camino offered them.
If you are one of these people, then I would be honoured if you allowed me to help share your story.
So why is a guy from Cairns living in Spain, doing a show about an 800 year old walk for pilgrims?
I have always known what I didn’t want to do in life, but I never knew what I wanted to do. That was until my wife convinced me to walk from Sarria to Santiago in August 2016.
After only five days on the Camino my life was changed, never to be the same again.
So fast forward to 2017 and my family and I have relocated from Australia to Santiago De Compostela in Spain, which is the beating heart of the Camino. I am here to live and breathe the Way of St James and to continue my own personal journey both on and off the Camino.
I walked from Santiago to Finessterre in April and I am embarking on the Camino in May, walking back to my family in Santiago. You will be able to follow my journey along the Camino as I will be podcasting and interviewing others while I do the walk.
I am the owner of the Project Camino podcast, but the quality and standard of any show depends so much on the passion and desire of the guests and the listeners.
So if you have any ideas for the show, or if you want the answers to any questions, then PLEASE, contact me and I will do everything in my power to find out those answers, for you.
Project Camino will have so many different types of people on as guests, from best selling authors, people who own businesses on the Camino to ordinary pilgrims who have great stories to share about the lessons that the Camino has given them.
So from amongst all of these people, with their different experiences and skills, we are definitely going to find the solution to any questions you may have.
No show is worth anything unless we all buy into it, 100%. My attitude to this show reflects how I view the Camino. If you aren’t going to jump into into completely, then why bother doing it at all?
I have burned my boats, so to speak and I have never been more determined, more driven or more dedicated to anything in my life than Project Camino.
I am lucky enough that I get to use the Camino as a platform for my Coaching practice.
I love what I do, I get to help people to realise that their best days are in front of them and that the problems they ‘think’ and ‘feel’ they have are actually nowhere near as big as they once thought.
The Camino gave me a fresh insight into a different way to look at the world and a better way to live in it. Hopefully you will learn that too.
We are gathering a world wide tribe of wanderers and wonderers who want to know how people successfully live ‘their Camino.’
The most important question that so many fellow pilgrims asked me was ‘how can we continue to live the pilgrim life when we get back home?’ With your help, I know we can answer that question for them together.
I would be honoured if you would be willing to come on this journey with me, to discover the stories of other pilgrims, to tap into the rich, living history of Spain and the Camino. To walk with the ghosts of the countless masses who have walked that path before.
As a coach, teacher & mentor, I have seen first hand just how valuable motivation and direction is and that’s why I am so passionate about ‘paying it forward’ via my podcast.
Thank you so much for your time in reading this, because time is the most precious thing any of us have.
